What we are looking for :

A QGIS Engineer, you will need to have the following technical requirements :

- Strong experience with QGIS and its plugins, tools and libraries is required.

Technical skills :

- Strong knowledge and experience in GIS software, particularly with QGIS software and its various plugins.

- Excellent understanding of data management, data analysis, and data visualization techniques in QGIS software.

- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, R, and SQL.

- Understanding of database management systems, such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.

- Experience in creating and managing geospatial databases, including designing, modelling, and implementing databases.

- Familiarity with geospatial data formats, including shapefiles, geodatabases, and GeoJSON.

- Knowledge of cartographic principles and experience in creating high-quality maps and visualizations.

- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to QGIS software and related tools.

- Experience with web mapping technologies, including OpenLayers, Leaflet, and Mapbox.

- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in developing creative solutions to complex technical challenges.

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, particularly in an agile development environment.

- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and SVN.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

What you should know already :

- Knowledge of spatial analysis techniques, such as network analysis, spatial interpolation, and geostatistics.

Tools and Technologies :

- Demonstrated experience with QGIS and its suite of tools, as well as other GIS software such as ArcGIS, GRASS, and PostGIS.

- Familiarity with web mapping technologies, databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite), and operating systems (Windows, Linux).

Communication and Collaboration :

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Certifications : Any relevant certifications such as QGIS Certified Associate or Professional.

Project Management :

- Ability to manage projects and work independently or as part of a team.

- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus.

Problem Solving :

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
