Job Title: QA Lead / QA Team Lead
Position: QA Lead / QA Team Lead
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated QA Lead / QA Team Lead to oversee the quality assurance efforts across multiple software
projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading QA teams, defining test strategies, and ensuring the successful
delivery of high-quality software products. In this role, you will be responsible for both hands-on testing and managing a team of QA
engineers, implementing best practices for manual and automated testing, and driving continuous improvements in testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and manage a team of QA engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure the teams success.
Define roles and responsibilities for team members and manage workloads to ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases.
Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and development plans for team members.
2. Test Strategy & Execution:
Define and implement test strategies for different projects, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all functional and non-functional
requirements.
Oversee the creation and execution of detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both manual and automated testing.
Collaborate with development, product management, and operations teams to understand product requirements and ensure that testing
activities align with project timelines and objectives.
3. Automation & Tools:
Lead the team in developing and maintaining test automation frameworks, ensuring maximum test coverage with minimal manual
intervention.
Identify and implement tools to improve testing efficiency (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, Postman, JMeter).
Ensure the integration of automated testing with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines.
4. Quality Metrics & Reporting:
Establish and monitor quality metrics (e.g., defect density, test coverage, test execution time) to track the quality and progress of the
testing efforts.
Prepare and present detailed QA status reports to stakeholders, highlighting risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
Track and analyze test results and defects, working with developers and project managers to ensure timely resolution.
5. Process Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the QA process, ensuring best practices are followed and adopted.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify gaps in quality and propose solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality
across the development process.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met at each stage of the
software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Act as a key point of contact for all QA-related activities and issues within the organization.
7. Risk Management & Escalation:
Identify potential risks and provide risk mitigation strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Escalate critical issues to upper management as necessary, providing detailed information and action plans.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 6-8 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Technical Skills:
-Strong hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, JUnit).
-Proficiency in manual and automated testing, API testing (Postman), and performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner).
Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
-Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent.
Solid understanding of web technologies, databases, and backend systems (e.g., SQL, Angular, Django, etc.).
Leadership Skills:
-Experience in leading and mentoring QA teams.
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
-Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-Problem-Solving:
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-A proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues before they impact the product.
Preferred:
-Experience with agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban.
-Familiarity with real-time data systems, API testing, and microservices architecture.
-Exposure to performance and security testing best practices.
