Hvac Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Candidate must have prior work experience in a consultancy firm.

1. Design and Development:

- Conduct detailed load calculations to determine heating and cooling needs.

- Design HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, ventilations, and control systems.

- Select appropriate HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, air handling units, and heat
exchangers.

- Develop detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD, BIM, or similar software.

2. Compliance and Standards:

- Ensure all designs comply with relevant local and international standards, such as ISHRAE,
ASHRAE, and NBC

- Conduct energy efficiency and sustainability assessments, incorporating green building
practices where applicable.

- Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory approvals and permits.

3. Client Interaction:

- Meet with clients to discuss project requirements, present designs, and provide technical
guidance.

- Address client concerns and make modifications to designs based on feedback.

- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to clients and stakeholders.

4. Site Visit and Inspections:

- Perform site visits to assess project feasibility and gather data for design purposes.

- Inspect HVAC installations during construction to ensure compliance with design
specifications and quality standards.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC systems during construction.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Technical Skills:

1. Proficiency in HVAC design software (CAD, BIM, HAP, etc.).

2. Understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations relevant to HVAC design

Working Conditions:

1. Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits and inspections .

2. Travel may be required depending on project locations.
