Job Description
As a Sr SQL Server DBA, you will engage with the Data Engineering Operations team for database
administration initiatives.
You will be involved in database administration, performance tuning, management,
troubleshooting and security , production support of SQL/AWS deployment and
enterprise database servers
You will provide technical support for all database environments including
development / pre-production / production databases for the organization and will be
responsible for setting up infrastructure, configuring, and maintenance of environment
including security to support on-premise and cloud environments.
Responsible for database migrations and code review.
Work with application teams for database implementations
Develop and implement innovative solutions leading to automation.
Be an individual contributor and team player.
Participate in 24 x7 on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed for
supporting United s highly critical database environment.

Qualifications - External
Required
BS/BA, preferably in Information Technology or Business or equivalent experience,
education, or training
7+ years of applicable experience in the design/administration/ support of one or more
RDBMS platforms
Experience required in Microsoft SQL Server Administration, 7+ years SQL Server Backup
Recovery, Troubleshooting, Tunning, Administration, Scripting and Architecture.
2+ years experience with Cloud migration of existing apps to AWS (on-premises)
Required

Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
Preferred
Master s in Computer Science or related STEM field
Experience with SQL Server version 2016 and higher. High availability Always on support, Backup
Recovery, Troubleshooting and Performance tuning.
Experience with RDBMS cloud-based systems like AWS, AZURE, or Google Cloud.
Power Shell or any scripting language.
Knowledge of monitoring tools like AppDynamics/SCOM/IDERA.
Database operations experience with the transportation/airline industry
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to lead projects individually and work well in a team environment.
