Robotics Embedded System Lead - PCB Design/Microcontroller (4-5 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of embedded systems engineers.

- Define the technical direction for embedded systems projects, ensuring alignment with overall robot functionalities.

- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality embedded firmware using C, C++, and Assembly languages.

- Implement Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) concepts such as FreeRTOS and Embedded Linux.

- Collaborate closely with hardware engineers on hardware design, circuit analysis, and interfacing.

- Select, integrate, and configure electronic components, sensors, and actuators based on project requirements.

- Utilize debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters) to effectively troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

- Develop and maintain robust communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, Bluetooth, USB) for data exchange.

- Implement and leverage version control systems (Git) for efficient code management.

- Create and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure the functionality and reliability of embedded systems.

- Lead the entire lifecycle of embedded systems projects, from design and development to deployment and maintenance.

- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in embedded systems technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).

- Minimum of 4 years of experience leading and delivering embedded systems projects.

- Strong understanding of microcontrollers, microprocessors, and digital signal processors (DSPs).

- In-depth knowledge of various embedded system architectures (e.g, Harvard, von Neumann).

- Proven experience with 32/16/8bit microcontrollers and their programming.

- Hands-on experience with hardware design principles, circuit analysis, and interfacing techniques.

- Familiarity with a wide range of electronic components, sensors, and actuators.

- Proficiency with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) for embedded systems development (e.g, Arduino IDE, STMCubeIDE, VSCode).

- Experience with PCB design software (e.g, KiCad) is a plus.

- Experience using debugging tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.

- Solid understanding of common communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, Bluetooth, USB).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers and other stakeholders.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex technical challenges.

- Ability to work independently while also leading and mentoring junior engineers.

- Experience in the robotics industry or exposure to embedded systems applications in relevant fields (e.g, automotive, healthcare, IoT) is a plus
