Job Description

Job Title: Chartered Accountant - Senior Finance Role


Location: Algeria (North Africa)

Industry: Manufacturing / Petrochemical / Service

Job Overview:

- We are seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant with approximately 20 years of hands-on experience in finance-related functions within large manufacturing and service industries.


- The ideal candidate will be adept at managing complex financial operations, ensuring statutory and legal compliance, and providing strategic financial oversight across multiple functional areas.


- This position requires an individual with strong leadership and communication skills to engage effectively with a multi-cultural team and work collaboratively with joint venture partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership:

- Lead the finance function for the company, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and compliance with local statutory requirements.

- Drive financial strategy to optimize resource allocation, budgeting, and capital management.

- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making at the executive and operational levels.

Compliance and Statutory Requirements:

- Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements in Algeria.

- Act as the primary liaison with statutory authorities, lenders, and regulatory bodies, ensuring that all reporting requirements are met.

Project Financing:

- Oversee project financing, ensuring the appropriate structuring and financing of major projects in line with company goals.

- Conduct financial modeling to assess the viability and risk of new projects, guiding the decision-making process.

Budgeting & Financial Modelling:

- Lead the annual budgeting process and work with cross-functional teams to ensure the company's financial targets and business plans are aligned.

- Develop financial models to forecast future financial performance and evaluate long-term profitability.

General Accounting & Reporting:

- Oversee the general accounting function, ensuring the accuracy of all accounting records.

- Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk exposure.

Investor and Partner Management:

- Manage relationships with investors and joint venture partners, providing them with clear financial reports and strategic updates.

- Ensure the company's financial interests are well-represented in all partnership and investment discussions.

Policy Implementation & Team Building:

- Implement robust financial policies and procedures to ensure effective controls and operational efficiency.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment through effective team-building, mentorship, and leadership.

Leadership & Communication:

- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring clear communication across functions and with global partners.

- Effectively communicate financial strategies, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership, investors, and joint venture stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) with approximately 20 years of hands-on experience in finance.

Experience: Proven track record in financial leadership roles within large manufacturing, petrochemical, or service industries. Candidates from other industries may also be considered.

Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting, and statutory compliance regulations.

- Expertise in project financing, financial modelling, and budgeting.

- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a multi-cultural team.

- Proven ability to engage with external stakeholders such as statutory authorities, lenders, investors, and joint venture partners.

- Ability to implement policies, manage financial operations, and drive business performance.
