GalaxEyeSpace, is a deep-tech Space start-up spun off from IIT-Madras and is currentlybased in Bengaluru, Karnataka. We are dedicated to advancing the frontiers ofspace exploration. Our mission is to develop cutting-edge solutions thataddress the challenges of the modern space industry by specialising indeveloping a constellation of miniaturised, multi-sensor SAR+EO satellites.
Our new age technology enables all-time,all-weather imaging, this with leveraging advanced processing and AIcapabilities, we ensure near real-time data delivery and are glad to highlightthat we have successfully demonstrated these imaging capabilities, the first ofits kind in the world, across various platforms such as Drones as well as HAPS(High-Altitude Pseudo Satellites).
We are looking for an Engineer to work on Electro-Optical Systems who can join us and help design, assemble and operate our first optical imaging telescope to be deployed in Space. Candidates should have both practical and theoretical knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, capabilities to simulate structures in harsh space environments and knowledge of testing standards and procedures. The role involves working on system engineering over the interesting intersection of Hardware and Optics Responsibilities:
You will assume engineering accountability for optical component, module, or subsystem design from concept through final qualification
Participate in continuous improvement efforts as needed to improve safety, cost, quality and operability of the Optical systems
Shall coordinate with other optical and optomechanical engineers to assist with development of manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication processes.
You will generate component (active and passive) specifications, design, development and qualification in the lab and on-system
Interacts closely with development engineers, supply chain engineers, suppliers, and QA to resolve quality issues
Develop test plans for optical sensor testing and characterisation and determine techniques and infrastructure required to accomplish test objectives
Installation, alignment, and integration of electro-optical system
Working In clean room environments while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
Requirements
Proficient with electro-optics concepts
Experience with sequential and non-sequential optical design and analysis software such as Zemax
Experience in using optical metrology tools like wavefront sensors, collimators, etc for integration, alignment and verification of payload electronics
Proficient in MATLAB/Python to be used in system engineering and design optimization.
Hands-on can-do attitude, great interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across many technical teams
Knowledge of Remote sensing theory, applications, systems, and techniques
Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents
