PL/SQL Developer

Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and experienced PL/SQL Developer to join our team.

The PL/SQL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining PL/SQL-based applications, databases, and reports.

he ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Oracle databases and proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to support business applications.

Key Responsibilities: Database Development: Design and develop PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers, and packages to meet business requirements. Write and optimize complex SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data from Oracle databases. Ensure database integrity, security, and optimization of queries and database performance.

Data Integration & ETL: Develop and maintain ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load) for integrating data from various sources into Oracle databases.

Work with business analysts and application developers to understand data integration needs and provide technical solutions. Database Optimization & Performance Tuning: Perform database performance tuning and query optimization to ensure efficient data retrieval and minimal response time. Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in the database and optimize resource usage.

Database Maintenance & Management: Monitor database performance and conduct routine maintenance to ensure high availability, backup, and recovery.

Ensure that all database changes and updates are properly documented and follow change management procedures. Testing & Quality Assurance:

Conduct unit and integration testing of PL/SQL code to ensure that the solutions meet functional and performance requirements. Participate in code reviews to ensure that coding standards, performance, and security practices are adhered to.

Collaboration & Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, system administrators, and business analysts, to implement solutions.

Maintain and update technical documentation for database structures, stored procedures, and other database-related assets.

Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support for production and development environments, including troubleshooting issues related to database applications and performance.

Assist with user queries and data-related issues, providing solutions or escalations as needed.

Key Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3+ years of experience as a PL/SQL Developer or in a similar role. Strong hands-on experience with Oracle databases, PL/SQL programming, and SQL query optimization.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in PL/SQL, including developing stored procedures, triggers, functions, and packages. Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and indexing. Experience with data integration and ETL tools is a plus. Familiarity with Oracle tools such as SQL*Plus, Oracle Data Pump, and Oracle SQL Developer.

Database & Data Management Skills: Strong understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and data modeling concepts. Experience with writing and optimizing SQL queries, including complex joins, subqueries, and set operations.

Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery processes.

Additional Skills: Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN). Knowledge of Agile development methodologies is a plus. Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., Java, .NET) and integrating PL/SQL with application logic is beneficial.

Certifications (Optional but Preferred): Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate is a plus.Personal Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
