Job Description

Position: DGM / GM - Human Resources

Location: Mumbai, India

The DGM/GM of HR will lead Flipspaces' HR strategy with a focus on Talent Acquisition. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in recruitment, workforce planning, and employer branding, and HR best practices. Additionally, the HR Head will oversee Administration, Operations, and IT, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and organizational efficiency.

Strong leadership is required to align HR initiatives with business objectives while fostering a culture of innovation and growth. The HR Head will oversee operations across India, the US, and other regions, ensuring compliance with local laws and adapting to new legal frameworks.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Strategic HR Leadership:

- Liaise directly with the executive board, providing strategic counsel on all people-related matters.

- Lead the HR function in alignment with organizational goals and the leadership vision.

- Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team on talent management and organizational growth.

- Demonstrate and role-model company values, culture, and initiatives.

- Develop and implement HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.

- The Business Leader role is paramount to Flipspaces' success during the sharp growth phase it is currently in.

Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus):

- Lead the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality hires across all levels.

- Design and execute innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent across diverse functions.

- Build and implement employer branding initiatives to position Flipspaces as an employer of choice.

- Collaborate with leadership and department heads to forecast hiring needs and define job requirements.

- Establish and monitor KPIs for talent acquisition, such as time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and quality-of-hire, ensuring continuous process optimization.

- Develop hiring strategies that prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion to build a representative workforce.

- Enhance candidate experience through best practices across the recruitment process, from application to seamless onboarding.

- Conduct market research to stay ahead of talent trends and maintain competitive salary benchmarks.

- Utilize data-driven insights to improve hiring processes and align them with strategic organizational objectives.

- Collaborate with HR teams to design onboarding programs that boost new hire integration and retention.

- Align talent acquisition strategies with long-term workforce planning to support organizational growth.

Employee Engagement and Development:

- Drive initiatives to enhance employee Happiness Quotient across all verticals.

- Design and execute employee engagement, training, and development programs.

- Provide coaching and mentoring to employees at all levels, ensuring continuous learning and development.

- Analyze employee feedback and data to create a better working environment.

HR Operations:


- Oversee performance appraisal systems to ensure high performance.

- Develop and monitor HR strategies, compensation, and benefits programs.

- Address grievances and manage employee relations professionally.

- Ensure legal compliance in HR management and maintain updated knowledge of employment laws.

- Lead the development of policies and procedures for organizational growth.

- HR Compliance, Audits and Employee Relations:

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and ensure compliance with local and international HR regulations.

- Manage employee relations, disciplinaries, redundancies, and payroll with integrity and professionalism.

- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to legal standards in all HR processes.

- Handle payroll and benefits administration to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Promote a fair, inclusive, and equitable workplace environment.

- Participate actively in internal and external HR audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.

- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address audit findings and implement necessary improvements.

Exists and Separations:

- Oversee smooth and compliant exit procedures for departing employees.

- Manage exit interviews to gather feedback for organizational improvement.

- Ensure proper documentation and legal compliance in separations.

- Administration, Operations, and IT Oversight.

- Manage office administration, facility management, travel, and reimbursements.

- Collaborate with IT for robust infrastructure and technology solutions to enhance productivity.

- Oversee budgets and cost management for HR operations.

Skills and Competencies:

- Proficiency in leveraging recruitment analytics and metrics to optimize hiring strategies and processes.

- Deep understanding of talent market trends, salary benchmarks, and competitive landscape to inform recruitment strategies.

- Experience in hiring for critical leadership roles, ensuring alignment with organizational culture and strategic goals.

- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing demands.

- Strong emotional intelligence, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.

- Commercial acumen with the ability to understand business finances and strategic goals.

- Expertise in employment law, employee relations, and best HR practices across geographies.

- Proficiency in coaching, mentoring, and developing talent.

- Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capabilities.

- Trustworthy and confident with the ability to give sound advice on talent issues.

Qualifications:

- Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields.

- 8-10 years of experience in senior HR leadership roles, managing diverse HR functions for teams of 300+ employees.

- In-depth knowledge of local and international HR processes, employment legislation, and regulations.

- Proven expertise in Talent Acquisition and recruitment strategies. Handled Recruitments in a start-up environment

- Familiarity with HR tools, recruiting software, and Employer Branding.

- Background from Tier-1 B-Schools is preferred.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a sense of ownership.
