Windows Administrator

Key Responsibilities

1. Windows Server Administration:

Manage and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).

Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and software.

Perform routine system checks and maintenance tasks.

2. Active Directory Management:

Administer and manage Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and organizational units.

Implement and maintain GPOs to ensure compliance and streamline operations.

Troubleshoot and resolve Active Directory issues.

3. Network Services Management:

Configure, manage, and troubleshoot DNS and DHCP services.

Ensure the reliability and performance of network services.

Perform regular backups and ensure the integrity of network configurations.

4. Troubleshooting and Support:

Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution of Windows Server issues.

Respond to escalated support tickets and provide high-level support to the IT team.

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

5. Virtualization and Migration:

Manage and administer virtual environments using VMware or Hyper-V.

Plan and execute server migrations, including virtual-to-virtual (V2V) and physical-to-virtual (P2V) migrations.

Optimize virtual server performance and resource allocation.

6. Physical Server Management:

Oversee physical server installations, configurations, and maintenance.

Ensure proper functioning of server hardware and address hardware issues promptly.

Maintain an accurate inventory of server hardware and related documentation.

7. Security and Compliance:

Implement and maintain security policies to protect the Windows infrastructure.

Monitor for security vulnerabilities and apply patches and updates in a timely manner.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.

8. Project Work:

Contribute to IT infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and objectives.

Document project plans, configurations, and procedures.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) administration.

Extensive experience with Active Directory, including GPO management and troubleshooting.

In-depth knowledge of DNS and DHCP configuration and troubleshooting.

Strong Windows troubleshooting skills and experience with root cause analysis.

Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.

Knowledge of server hardware and physical server maintenance.
