Senior IT Engineer - Network/Desktop Support (4-5 yrs)

Role Description :

We are looking for a Senior IT Engineer with comprehensive experience in both networking and desktop support to manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of the organization's network and desktop systems, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and providing support to end-users.

You will collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure the seamless functioning of systems and networks within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Oversee the design, configuration, and management of company-wide network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, and related technologies.

- Maintain and troubleshoot network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and access points (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, etc.

- Ensure network security through the configuration and management of firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and other network security measures.

- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to ensure uptime, reliability, and scalability.

- Configure and manage network protocols (e., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), and troubleshoot connectivity and network performance issues.

- Provide expert-level support for desktop systems, including operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and applications.

- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for end-users and ensure timely resolutions.

- Manage user accounts, permissions, and configurations for both desktop and network systems.

- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.

- Support the integration of new technologies into desktop environments (e., printers, monitors, scanners, etc.

- Provide advanced technical support for both desktop and network-related issues escalated by junior IT staff or end-users.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to networking, desktop systems, applications, and hardware.

- Respond promptly to IT support requests and incidents, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.

- Document and track all technical support activities, ensuring detailed logs are maintained for future reference.

- Implement and enforce company security policies, including network access control, patch management, and endpoint security.

- Configure and maintain network security devices like firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection tools (e., antivirus software, encryption).

- Conduct regular audits and assessments of network security to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.

- Collaborate with other IT teams (e., server, cloud, database) to ensure seamless integration of network and desktop systems with other infrastructure components.

- Work closely with the IT management team to ensure that network and desktop systems are aligned with the company's goals and requirements.

- Assist in the rollout and deployment of IT infrastructure, software updates, and patches across all systems.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- 4+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, desktop support, or a related IT field.

- Proven experience in network configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

- Extensive experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux desktop environments.

- Familiarity with desktop management tools (e., Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, etc.

- Previous experience working with network security tools such as firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet), VPNs, and IPS/IDS systems.

- Experience working in both on-premise and cloud-based IT infrastructures (e., AWS, Azure)
