Position Overview: The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for designing,
implementing, and overseeing training programs that enhance employee skills, performance,
and growth of our colleagues and leaders. This role involves assessing organizational needs,
developing strategic learning initiatives, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs
to support business objectives and employee development. You will also be supporting the
global leadership development training programs/projects through all the aspects of the
development Cycle.
Day in the life:
1. Training Needs Assessment:
o Conduct assessments to identify training needs and gaps within the
organization.
o Collaborate with department heads and employees to determine specific
learning and development requirements.
2. Program Development and Implementation:
o Design, develop, and deliver effective training programs and workshops
tailored to different levels of the organization.
o Create engaging training materials, including manuals, guides, and e-learning
modules.
o Leverage learning management systems (LMS) and other e-learning platforms
to deliver blended learning solutions as part of L&D strategy.
3. Learning Strategy:
o Develop and implement a strategic learning and development plan aligned
with organizational goals and objectives.
o Ensure the learning strategy supports both short-term and long-term business
needs.
4. Vendor Management:
o Identify, select, and manage relationships with external training providers and
consultants.
o Evaluate the performance and impact of external training programs.
5. Performance Evaluation:
o Implement metrics and tools to measure the effectiveness and ROI of training
programs.
o Collect and analyze feedback from participants to improve future training
initiatives.
6. Leadership and Coaching:
o Provide coaching and support to managers and team leaders to enhance their
leadership and people management skills.
o Facilitate leadership development programs and succession planning.
7. Compliance and Best Practices:
o Ensure training programs comply with industry regulations and company
policies.
o Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in learning and
development.
o Collaborate with Global L&D Team to ensure learning plans are in line with
FCM strategic pillars.
o Support additional/ad hoc tasks for regional and global learning requirements
at the request of management.
8. Budget Management:
o Develop and manage the L&D budget, ensuring cost-effective use of
resources.
o Track expenditures and report on training costs and outcomes.
You'll be perfect for the role if you have:
â Education: Bachelorâs degree in human resources, Education, Business
Administration, or a related field. A masterâs degree or relevant certifications (e.g.,
CPLP, SHRM) is preferred.
â Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in learning and development, with at
least 2 years in a managerial role.
â Skills:
o Strong knowledge of learning theories, instructional design, and adult learning
principles.
o Proven ability to design and deliver training programs effectively.
o Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to analyse data and use insights to drive decision-making.
o Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
o Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives
simultaneously
