A leading manufacturer of foundry resins, coatings, catalysts, and allied chemicals. This is a strategic leadership role focusing on optimising the logistics and packaging functions while ensuring cost efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Job Title: Logistics Head

Location: Nerul, Maharashtra (Need base at Khopoli and Chembur)

Industry: Foundry Chemicals (Resins, Coatings, Catalysts, Sleeves/Cone, and other Foundry Chemicals)

Education: M.Sc./B.Sc. (Chemistry) or MBA in Supply Chain

Role & responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

1. Design and implement logistics and packaging strategies aligning with business objectives.

2. Focus on cost reduction, efficiency, and sustainability.

Transportation Management:

1. Manage carrier selection, route optimisation, and cost control for transportation.

2. Negotiate contracts with transport companies and ensure on-time performance.

Warehouse Management:

1. Oversee inventory, storage, picking, packing, and shipping operations.

2. Ensure optimal warehouse utilisation and process efficiency.

Packaging Innovations:

1. Develop sustainable packaging strategies to optimise costs and reduce waste.

2. Drive innovation while ensuring product protection and compliance with regulations.

Cost & Performance Management:

1. Identify cost-saving opportunities in freight, warehousing, and packaging.

2. Monitor KPIs, including on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and packaging costs.

Sustainability & Risk Management:

1. Integrate eco-friendly practices into logistics and packaging operations.

2. Mitigate potential supply chain disruptions with risk management strategies.

Team Leadership:

1. Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team.

2. Stay updated on global trends, technologies, and best practices in logistics.

Preferred candidate profile:

1. Experience: 12-20 years in logistics and packaging management from industries like resins, paints, foundries, or allied chemical segments.

2. Age: 35-50 years (Male preferred).

Expertise:

1. Handling transportation operations (Trucks, Tankers, Brokers).

2. Negotiating contracts and resolving operational challenges like spillage, breakage, and Mathadi issues.

3. Managing a monthly volume of at least 10,000 MT.

Skills:

1. Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

2. Proficiency in logistics systems such as SAP ERP and WMS.

3. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
