Senior Director - Manufacturing Operations (20-22 yrs)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Senior Director - Manufacturing Operations to lead and manage all aspects of our manufacturing plant in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring efficient production, and optimizing plant performance while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Define and align plant goals and objectives with overall company strategy and business plans.

- Develop and implement short-term and long-term operational plans to achieve production targets and improve efficiency.

- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify areas for improvement.

Operational Excellence:

- Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S, to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, equipment utilization, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

- Implement robust quality control systems to ensure product quality and minimize defects.

- Reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through proactive measures and continuous improvement.

Supply Chain Management:

- Manage the entire supply chain, from raw material procurement to finished goods delivery.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials.

- Optimize inventory levels to minimize holding costs and prevent stockouts.

Safety and Environmental Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations (e., OSHA, ISO 14001).

- Implement and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of production supervisors, engineers, and technicians.

- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

- Recruit, hire, and train qualified personnel to meet operational needs.

Financial Management:

- Manage the plant budget and control operational expenses.

- Identify and implement cost-saving measures to improve profitability.

Technology & Innovation:

- Explore and implement new technologies and automation solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.

- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 20+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years as a Plant Head or equivalent leadership role.

- Proven track record of success in leading and managing all aspects of plant operations.

- Strong understanding of metals manufacturing processes, including [mention specific processes relevant to the company, e., casting, forging, machining].

- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.

- Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP.

- Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in production or related field.

- Postgraduate degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Experience in the faucet manufacturing industry.

- Six Sigma Black Belt certification
