We are seeking a SQL DBA who will provide expert-level support for highly available SQL Server environments
The ideal candidate will be articulate and approachable, with practical/working knowledge of clustering, log shipping, mirroring, replication, and Always On availability groups to meet business needs
The candidate must also be able to troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues promptly

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience
Key Responsibilities
Experience working in large Azure environments, spanning multiple accounts/subscriptions, availability zones, and regions.
Exposure to Azure IaaS PaaS Services, experience in migration of workloads to the cloud, and understanding of Azure native services and disk pooling.
Experience in managing SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2019, as well as sunsetting older databases/versions.
Ability to configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication mirroring and log shipping issues, and connectivity issues
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using SQL Server monitoring utilities such as Spotlight (preferred), Redgate, IDERA, or SolarWinds SentryOne.
Ability to detect/troubleshoot SQL Server-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention.
Proficient in backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, and DBCC commands.
Experience with Always On design, Availability groups, replication, log shipping, mirroring, and storage replication technologies
Familiarity with SQL Server tools (Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, system procs).
Solid acquaintance with Windows Server, security delegation, SPNs, and storage components.
Independently analyse, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
Experience designing DR plans while satisfying SLA requirements and conducting disaster recovery tests.
Ability to design/recommend database alerts for monitoring database availability and performance.
Ability to work with internal and external auditors on PCI compliance audits.
Ability to accurately monitor environments, resolve issues, and plan capacity improvements.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
Highly self-motivated with excellent time management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications:
Minimum 6-10 years of experience as an MS SQL database administrator.
Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2019 required.
Experience with Azure SQL in a multi-region configuration.
Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server on VM, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL.
