The Medical Equipment Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of medical devices and equipment used in healthcare settings. The engineer will ensure that the equipment meets safety standards, functions efficiently, and complies with manufacturer guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Commissioning :
- Set up and install new medical equipment in healthcare facilities.
- Ensure equipment is functioning according to specifications.
- Maintenance & Calibration :
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of medical devices as per the schedule.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs :
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults or malfunctions in medical devices.
- Repair equipment or coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs when necessary.
- Customer Training & Support :
- Train healthcare staff on the proper use and maintenance of medical devices.
- Provide ongoing technical support and assistance as needed.
- Inventory Management :
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure critical spares are available when needed.
- Track equipment warranties and service contracts.
- Collaboration :
- Work closely with the clinical team to ensure that all equipment functions optimally.
- Collaborate with vendors for maintenance, servicing, or procurement of new devices
