MIS Manager - Data Analytics (10-12 yrs)

Role Overview :

The MIS Manager (Data Analyst) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the data analysis and reporting processes.

The role requires a strong command of data analysis tools, team management skills, and a deep understanding of reporting metrics to provide actionable insights.

You will work closely with various departments to support business decisions by developing data-driven reports, dashboards, and analytical tools.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Management & Reporting :

- Design, develop, and manage comprehensive reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights across various business functions.

- Analyze data trends and key performance indicators (KPIs) to deliver clear and concise reports.

- Generate ad-hoc reports based on the requirements from different departments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of reporting systems to continuously improve efficiency and accuracy.

Team Leadership & Collaboration :

- Lead and manage a team of data analysts, ensuring alignment with business goals and effective task delegation.

- Foster a collaborative environment within the team and with other departments to ensure seamless data flow and integration.

- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts, helping them enhance their technical and analytical skills.

Advanced Data Analysis :

- Use advanced Excel features (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas) to analyze large datasets and derive meaningful insights.

- Conduct deep analysis and root cause analysis of business problems, providing solutions backed by data-driven insights.

- Use statistical analysis to support decision-making and to identify opportunities for business improvement.

Business Intelligence (Power BI) Development :

- Develop, manage, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to provide business intelligence insights in real-time.

- Implement Power BI reporting solutions, ensuring the accuracy of data sources and visualization.

- Optimize reports and dashboards for performance, ensuring quick and accurate access to insights.

Communication & Stakeholder Management :

- Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and business insights.

- Ensure effective communication between the data analysis team and other departments to meet business needs.

- Translate complex data findings into understandable business language for non-technical stakeholders.

Process Optimization & Automation :

- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline reporting and data analysis processes.

- Continuously assess existing data tools and processes for improvements and upgrades.

- Implement best practices for data analysis and reporting, maintaining consistency and quality across all reports.

Key Requirements :

Experience :

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in MIS, data analysis, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

- Proven experience in developing and managing MIS reports and dashboards.

Skills & Expertise :

- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros, etc.)

- Strong knowledge of Power BI and experience in developing and maintaining interactive dashboards.

- Expertise in data analysis, including statistical methods, data visualization, and trend analysis.

- Team management experience with a focus on coaching and mentoring team members.

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.

Relevant Skills Set :

- Advanced Excel : Pivot Tables, Macros, Complex Formulas, Data Modelling, Data Validation

- Power BI : Dashboard Development, Report Creation, Data Transformation, Power Query

- SQL : Database Querying, Data Extraction, Optimization

- Data Analysis Tools : R, Python (for Data Science/Analytics)

- Data Visualization : Knowledge of tools like Tableau, Google Data Studio

- Reporting & Presentation : Strong command of report creation and presentation tools like Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

- Statistical Analysis : Statistical analysis tools and techniques (SPSS, SAS, or similar)

- Automation Tools : Familiarity with automation software (e.g, Alteryx, Python scripts)

- Business Intelligence Software : Ability to integrate and manage BI solutions, ensuring seamless data flow.

- Project Management Tools : Familiarity with project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana for tracking tasks and projects.

Communication :

- Excellent communication and presentation skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

- Ability to simplify complex data for non-technical stakeholders and provide data-driven recommendations.

Additional Skills :
