Engineer I - Flight Dynamics Engineer - UAV Design, Flight Controls, and Simulation
seeking a highly skilled and motivated Flight Dynamics Engineer to join our UAV design and development team. In this role,
you will be responsible for creating and optimizing flight control systems, developing high-fidelity simulations, and modeling
UAV dynamics to support design and operational objectives. Your expertise will be critical to ensuring UAV stability,
performance, and mission success.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop mathematical models for UAV flight dynamics, including fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and hybrid platforms.
2. Design and optimize flight control algorithms, including autopilot and stability augmentation systems.
3. Analyze and evaluate UAV stability, controllability, and aerodynamic performance under various conditions.
4. Create high-fidelity simulations of UAV systems using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or equivalent tools
5. Simulate mission scenarios to validate UAV performance and mission feasibility.
6. Develop hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) frameworks for flight system testing.
7. Work closely with the aerodynamics, propulsion, and systems engineering teams to refine UAV designs.
8. Support the integration of sensors, actuators, and navigation systems into flight control architectures.
9. Perform pre-flight simulations to assess flight readiness and safety.
10. Support field testing, including data collection, analysis, and post-flight performance evaluation.
Qualifications:
1. Master s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
2. Strong understanding of flight dynamics, UAV kinematics, and control theory.
3. Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or equivalent.
4. Hands-on experience with flight control system design and tuning.
5. Familiarity with UAV design principles, including aerodynamics and propulsion.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
