Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and guide a team of QA engineers and testers, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Ensure the team adheres to project timelines, quality standards, and testing protocols. Monitor individual performance and provide constructive feedback to improve efficiency and output.
- Facilitate ongoing training and skill development for team members to keep up with the latest testing techniques, tools, and industry best practices.
- Design and implement effective testing strategies and plans based on project requirements. Ensure that the testing approach aligns with project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Oversee the creation and review of test cases, ensuring that they cover all functional and non-functional requirements. Identify key areas to be tested and ensure thorough testing of each module or feature.
- Identify risks associated with the testing process and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to mitigate them effectively.
- Identify opportunities for automation and collaborate with the team to automate repetitive and high-volume test cases. Ensure manual testing is performed effectively where necessary.
- Evaluate new testing tools and technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.
- Ensure that the team executes tests (functional, performance, regression, and others) based on the test plans.
- Ensure testing is carried out in alignment with company procedures and standards.
- Manage and track defects discovered during testing, ensure timely resolution, and ensure that issues are documented, tracked, and closed effectively.
- Work closely with developers to understand application functionalities and assist in troubleshooting defects during the development process.
- Ensure the testing team understands the product requirements and expectations. Communicate with product managers to clarify requirements and test cases.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all testing-related communications between teams. Facilitate clear communication and align testing objectives with project goals.
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing, with at least 2-3 years in a team leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices, including functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and automation.
- Proficiency in automation tools like Selenium, QTP, TestComplete, or similar testing frameworks.
- Strong background in manual testing techniques and the ability to lead manual testing efforts where automation is not feasible.
- Experience using defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar software.
- Proficiency in using test management tools such as TestRail, Quality Center, or similar platforms.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of QA engineers while driving continuous
improvement in testing processes and team efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams, management, and stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments, understanding the iterative nature of Agile development and testing.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
