Job Description
- Design, implement and test new products to achieve desired features and specifications
- Document designs for product support and efficient development of successive product generations
- Ensure project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements
- Completes technical studies and prepare cost estimates
- Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests
- Design product concepts, build prototypes and conduct testing and validation
- Maintains project database
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing relating results as needed
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes including turning, milling and welding
- Perform and present gated design reviews with both internal staff, as well as with customers at specific times in the design lifecycle of components
- Work as part of a team of design and manufacturing engineering staff to bring designs through prototyping and into serial production
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing relating results as needed
- Participate in mechanical product design including product specifications, material selection, CAD design, and detailed product drawings
- Design, implement and test new products to achieve desired features and specifications
- Document designs for product support and efficient development of successive product generations
- Provide technical expertise to the team
