About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead (Development) with deep expertise in PHP, Drupal, and modern development frameworks. The ideal candidate will lead the development team, ensuring best practices, scalability, and high-performance solutions while fostering innovation and collaboration. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can architect, develop, and deploy web applications, coordinate with stakeholders across Australia, the Philippines, and India, and drive technical excellence in all aspects of software development.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology & Development Leadership

• Lead the end-to-end development, deployment, and optimization of web applications, ensuring robust and scalable architecture.
• Guide the team in selecting the right CMS (Drupal, WordPress, or others), frameworks, and tools based on project needs.
• Drive best practices in coding, architecture, performance optimization, and security.
• Oversee the development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud infrastructure (AWS EC2, GCP, or Azure).
• Mentor the development team, promoting continuous learning and skill enhancement across multiple technologies.
• Identify key factors for project estimation and ensure accuracy in scoping development efforts.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with developers, UI/UX designers, DevOps, SEO specialists, project managers, and upper management.
• Coordinate across teams in Australia, the Philippines, and India to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment of technical strategies.
• Ensure the team independently manages projects while also driving cross-functional collaboration for complex solutions.
• Act as a key decision-maker in technical architecture, platform selection, and development strategies.
• Be proactive in identifying project risks, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring seamless execution.

Software Development & Best Practices

• Drive structured documentation processes, ensuring clear user stories, test cases, and checklists for every project.
• Oversee backend and frontend development, ensuring high-quality, well-structured, and maintainable code.
• Implement testing and QA procedures, including unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing.
• Ensure adherence to software development standards, including code reviews, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
• Maintain and optimize existing systems while designing scalable and efficient solutions for new requirements.
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring seamless integration between various systems.

Technical Strategy & Innovation

• Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.
• Recommend and implement AI-powered automation, chatbot solutions, and advanced web technologies.
• Work on performance tuning, caching strategies, and website speed optimization.
• Lead efforts to modernize legacy systems and migrate applications to scalable cloud-based architectures.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong expertise in PHP, Drupal, Laravel, or other MVC frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with frontend technologies such as JavaScript (React, Vue, or Angular), HTML, and CSS.
• Deep understanding of database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Proficiency in CI/CD, Docker, AWS EC2, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in API development, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven technical decisions.
• Ability to balance hands-on coding with high-level architecture and strategy discussions.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with headless CMS solutions and API-first architectures.
• Familiarity with automation, chatbot solutions, and AI-driven development.
• Exposure to eCommerce platforms, CRM integrations, and large-scale data platforms.
• Knowledge of SEO, website performance optimization, and conversion-driven web development.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
