Software Engineer - ETL/Power BI (4-8 yrs)

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.

- Develop and maintain SSRS reports and data sources.

- Write complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and materialized views for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).

- Perform data analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to support business decisions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts) to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

- Ensure data quality and accuracy throughout the entire data pipeline.

- Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in the BI and data analytics space.

- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data and reporting.

- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices.

Required Skills :

- Proven experience in designing and building complex Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.

- Deep understanding of data analysis principles and methodologies.

- Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.

- Solid understanding of software development principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).

- Experience with object-oriented programming concepts is a plus.

- Strong proficiency in SQL Server and Oracle Server.

- Experience with database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

- Experience with various data modeling techniques (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema).

- Experience with ETL processes and tools.

- Excellent data visualization skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and impactful reports and dashboards.

Technical Skills :

- Advanced knowledge of Power BI Desktop and Service.

- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and data modeling within the Power BI environment.

- Strong experience in developing and maintaining SSRS reports and data sources.

- Expertise in T-SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.

- Strong understanding of Oracle Server, including database administration, query optimization, and performance tuning.

- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.

- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R is a plus.
