Job Summary:
The Technician will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing electrical systems within our EV battery R&D lab. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting and calibrating Battery Management Systems (BMS), assembling and testing battery packs, and monitoring environmental systems to support innovative battery technology development. The technician will ensure compliance with safety standards while collaborating with the R&D team on cutting-edge projects in the EV industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain Battery Management Systems (BMS) to ensure functional reliability and assist in the development and optimization of BMS solutions for EV battery applications.
Assemble and disassemble battery packs according to manufacturers specifications and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards during all processes.
Conduct capacity testing using CAN tools to measure the performance of battery packs and ensure they meet required specifications.
Inspect and troubleshoot battery packs to identify potential issues, defects, or performance anomalies and resolve them efficiently.
Monitor and maintain environmental control systems, ensuring accurate system readings and optimal performance for lab experiments.
Maintain accurate records of all work performed on battery packs, including assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations, including battery handling, disposal, and overall lab safety protocols.
Coordinate with procurement teams for the acquisition of necessary tools, components, and equipment related to BMS and other lab systems.
Maintain detailed records of diagnostics, calibration, repairs, and system performance, providing regular updates to the R&D team.
Skills Required:
2-5 years in a similar role within battery technology, automotive, or electronics industries.
A Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of BMS, including assembly, calibration, and troubleshooting, ensuring safety compliance.
Proficiency in using CAN tools for battery pack testing and performance analysis.
Experience with HVAC systems and environmental control system maintenance.
Ability to maintain and troubleshoot security systems like locks, card access, and cameras.
Skilled in record-keeping, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations for battery handling.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in procurement and working with cross-functional teams.
Relevant certifications in BMS, battery technology, HVAC, or safety standards are a plus.
