The Manager - Sales and Operations Planning, India is responsible for the Strategic merchandising vision for ECCO shoes in India being ultimately responsible for creating and upkeeping the product range planning across ECCO brand sales points and for driving the strategic development of the brand whilst growing offline sales, large format businesses, mom-n-pop stores, E-Commerce, mono-brand stores and expanding the business into new offline channels.
The incumbent will be leading the sales and operational planning organization in India and functions as the primary link to Senior Management in India, thus ensuring alignment based on global and regional ECCO standards and principles. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining strong product-led relationship with key business partners, key stakeholders of franchisee partners, buyers, planners, and key decision makers in our retail business.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
- Responsible for creating and planning consumer-right assortments using the Global Must Buy and Elective seasonal assortments for all channels (Brick & Mortar and E-commerce)
- Create a Merchandising Financial Plan across the Channel.
- Alignment of OTBs along with the sales team and key partners involved in the product buy and placement.
- Collaborate closely with the broader Sales team for India to align on Seasonal GTM. Ensure the teams are fully informed on product strategy and Seasonal focuses.
- Create/align on overall go-to-market plans to improve conversion and engagement.
- Create weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and share it with the broader team. Provide seasonal Hindsight and narrative.
- Maintain consumer focus by utilizing consumer insights, conducting competitor click-throughs and keeping abreast of market macro-environment shifts and trends.
- Monitor ASP, Product Margin, Gross margin and Discount rate to ensure positive progression across all key metrics and opportunities.
- Develop consumer right assortments and overseas allocation plans and ensure inventory is optimized across platforms.
- Work with Sales teams to understand inventory gaps to forecast and evaluate the business risk
- Complete regular analysis of in-season product and promotional performance, communicate with comprehension to all stakeholders, and play forward learnings for future planning.
- Collaborate on content to help identify key styles for marketing support.
- Actively participate in Seasonal sell-in and Brand shows, providing product information as required.
- Coordination with factories for the import of products. Regular liaison with global S&OP teams for identifying the best practices for implementing in India.
- Complete tasks including inventory transfers, MSRP setting, inventory checks, promotion list alignment, customs enquiries, catalogue creation.
Budgets, Business Plans. Suggested Buys and Reporting:
- Alignment with the sourcing/buying Plan for India (3/5-year plan) together with the India Senior Management in the substructure; identify and outline required resources to facilitate and execute the strategy.
- Strategic vision on merchandising and blueprint creation
- Establish complete product-related action plans to achieve budgets and targets and implement them with the team for embracement and execution.
- Improvement on Sales reduction % and sell thru%
Sales channels
- Develop annual / seasonal plans and plan the required buy.
- Develop buying targets and alignment of all key stakeholders.
- Ensure the right product mix in terms of brand perception, sales targets and profitability.
- Review weekly India product performance for all channels.
- Ensure partner account management by guiding with the right OTB, Product mix and partner profitability.
- Active part of MBR and QBR with internal and external stakeholder
- End-to-end supply chain, including warehouse management.
- 100% involvement in the process of OTB, placing orders, sourcing orders from factories and allocation to the aligned channels.
