Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Data Architect to join our growing Adtech firm. As a Data Architect, you will play a critical role in optimizing the architecture and flow of massive amounts of data generated by our advertising platform, CDP, Identity solutions, and other products. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data transportation, storage, retrieval, and optimization, with a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (especially AWS), Big Data technologies, and cost-efficient data management.

This role requires someone who can not only design scalable data systems but also drive data strategy, identifying opportunities for improving performance, cost efficiency, and speed of data handling, while ensuring the system remains adaptable to future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Data Architecture & Design:

Architect and optimize the end-to-end data pipeline, from ingestion through storage to real-time data processing and retrieval, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. Design solutions that handle large-scale data, optimize for low-latency, high-throughput use cases, and support business intelligence and advanced analytics needs.

- Cloud Infrastructure:

Leverage AWS, Snowflake, and MongoDB to build and scale data systems. Utilize AWS native tools (such as AWS Redshift, S3, Lambda, and Glue) to manage data ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval. Ensure seamless integration with external data partners and systems.

- Big Data Technologies:

Design and implement solutions to process and analyze large datasets using Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.). Optimize data workflows to support both batch and real-time processing for various use cases in the Adtech landscape.

- Cost Optimization:

Implement strategies for data storage and compute resource optimization on the cloud (AWS), ensuring cost-effective management of large data volumes. Monitor, analyze, and forecast data storage costs and optimize for both performance and budget efficiency.

- AI/ML Integration:

Apply AI/ML techniques to improve data flow, analytics, and automation within the platform. Enable smarter decision-making processes by integrating AI tools for better insights and performance improvements across data handling.

- Data Quality & Governance:

Define and enforce best practices for data governance, quality, and security across all platforms. Work closely with product, engineering, and data science teams to ensure the integrity, consistency, and compliance of data.

- Collaborative Problem-Solving:

Work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists to align on data strategies, understand business needs, and deliver impactful data solutions. Ensure data architectures support business requirements and deliver operational insights.

- Continuous Improvement:

Proactively identify areas for improvement in existing data systems and architectures. Research emerging technologies and trends in Big Data and Adtech to continually innovate and improve the data landscape.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Experience:

o 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role, with hands-on expertise in designing and implementing large-scale data architectures.

o Strong experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (EC2, S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, etc.), and relational/non-relational databases (Snowflake, MongoDB).

o Extensive experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and experience in building and optimizing real-time data pipelines.

o Practical experience applying AI/ML to optimize data processes and decision-making.

o Experience in the Adtech industry or similar high-velocity data environments (e.g., e-commerce, digital media, fintech) is highly preferred.

Skills & Expertise:

o Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and real-time data architecture.

o Expertise in performance optimization for data storage, processing, and retrieval.

o Advanced understanding of data security, privacy laws, and governance.

o Ability to analyze and optimize the cost of cloud data infrastructure (storage, compute, network).

o Proven ability to manage complex data integration projects with multiple external and internal data sources.

o Strong problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with Adtech platforms (DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, CDPs).

- Knowledge of data streaming and event-driven architectures (e.g., Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis).

- Familiarity with data science and machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.).

- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) is a plus.
