Head Fundraising/ Operations Head - Fundraising
- The Fundraising Head will be responsible for driving the overall fundraising strategy and achieving the annual fundraising goals. Fundraising head will lead fundraising and growth mandate across a diverse range of geographies, categories and batches of Alumni, evoking and developing a culture of philanthropy amongst them and students, faculty, staff and communities of the institute, through advocacy and development of its mission, goal and programs.
- This leadership position will oversee the development and execution of strategic fundraising initiatives, working closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment with marketing plans. The role also includes leading and mentoring the fundraising team and fostering a collaborative environment to maximize fundraising outcomes.
The Fundraising Head will report directly to the Dean of Alumni/Chairman of the Foundation and will be a key figure in driving mission across alumni, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals globally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Fundraising Leadership:
- Develop and lead the execution of the annual fundraising strategy, ensuring alignment with broader institutional goals. Collaborate with the marketing team to create a synchronized fundraising and marketing plan.
- Identify and promote new opportunities and upselling causes to potential donors to drive the growth of the Endowment Fund corpus.
- Review current set of products/ avenues - benchmark & innovate for introducing more compelling fundraising products and avenues.
- Create a mining engine for urgent and critical causes for institute and facilitate conversations with engaged donors for these avenues
- Drive 3 Primary Goals : New Pledge Targets, Donations (Realizations) Targets and Engaged UHNI Base (Pipeline)
2. HNWIs Relationship Building, Corporate Partnership and Engagement:
- Identify, prospect, and develop long-term relationships with Corporates and High Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs) globally.
- Develop &Lead strategies to engage Corporate and HNWIs in the ecosystem and foster a culture of fundraising within the broader community.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Corporate & HNWIs, facilitating engagement, negotiating Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and ensuring the execution of agreed terms. Monitor the implementation of contributions and agreements, resolving issues as they arise.
3. Donor Prospecting and Wealth Assessment:
- Create Prospecting Blueprint, Conduct wealth assessments, profile potential donors, and engage them in contribution opportunities. Develop a strategic roadmap for donor relationship management.Maintain dossiers to monitor their life trajectories and identify donation prospects.
4. CRM and Data Management:
- Ensure team updates CRM systems and trackers with detailed notes after each donor interaction, ensuring transparency and data accuracy for ongoing relationship management and strategy formulation. Leverage CRM and other data tools to ensure transparency and accuracy in donor tracking and interaction, improving the efficiency of fundraising efforts.
5. Transparency and Execution:
- Ensure the transparent execution of MOUs and agreements with various offices, monitoring timelines and adherence to terms. Proactively resolve potential concerns by collaborating with leadership and relevant offices.
6. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with faculty, departments, the office of alumni relations, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless donor interactions and the fulfilment of our commitments.
7. Leadership and Reporting:
- Lead, Mentor & Grooms the fundraising team, fostering a performance-driven culture to meet set targets and Provide regular updates to the reporting manager and seniorleadership, escalating concerns when necessary and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Candidate Profile Requirements:
- Preferably an IIT alumnus.
- Minimum 12 Years' experience, out of which minimum 8 Years' leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience in creating and executing fundraising strategies, with a proven ability to lead a team and manage P&L / allocated targets responsibilities.
- Proven track record in donor or client relationship management, particularly with corporates and HNWIs with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Exposure to interacting with International / Global Target Audiences will be an added advantage.
- Post-graduate degree/diploma in business administration will be preferred.
Proven experience in dealing with product designing, program management, developing fundraising strategies, stakeholder management, go-to-market strategy etc. to support fundraising efforts.
