DevOps Developer - Chef/Ansible (4-6 yrs)

Responsibilities for Software engineer (DevOPs Focus) :

- Design, implement, and manage continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, ensuring seamless and automated processes from code commit to deployment.

- Utilize configuration management tools such as CHEF and Ansible to automate the provisioning, deployment, and management of infrastructure across development, testing, and production environments.

- Help out with general test driven development and automated of testing activities for several network applications that have code in programming languages like Java, Python.

- Knowledge of various build systems like makefiles, ant, maven, gradle.

- Build containers, virtual machines and automate deployment and configuration of the same.

- Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps methodologies into their development practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure for performance and scalability, employing best practices for system health and security.

- Develop and maintain documentation related to DevOps processes, tools, and configurations.

- Setup data pipelines, transform and load data into cloud based dataware houses

- Conduct system audits, including security and performance reviews, to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

- Stay abreast of the latest in DevOps technologies and methodologies, continuously seeking to improve our processes and tools.

- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for critical production issues and perform scheduled maintenance tasks outside of peak hours as necessary.

- Ensure security compliance with data protection policies including implementing OAUTH, RBAC, certificate and PKI based security mechanisms.

Qualifications for Software engineer (DevOPs Focus) : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer applications, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Required Skills for Software engineer (DevOPs Focus) :

- Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, with a proven track record of deploying and managing scalable and reliable infrastructure.

- Expertise in automation and configuration management tools, specifically CHEF, Ansible, and Jenkins.

- Strong understanding of cloud services (especially Azure, teraform), virtualization (KVM etc.) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Well versed with general programming languages like JAVA and Python.

- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. , Bash, perl, awk) for automation tasks.

- Experience with database administration and management in MySQL, i.e. DBA type skills.

- Strong knowledge of SQL, E-R diagrams, database transactions, triggers and stored procedures.

- Expert in advanced Linux usage, system adminstration

- Knowledge of code scanning tools for vulnerability detection and code unit test coverage tools

- Knowledge of end to end test automation tools and unit testing tools.

- Experience building data pipelines and ETL and working with cloud based datawarehouses.

- Knowledge of cyber security technologies like PKI, SSL certrificates and their administration in different middleware and containers.

- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively across multiple teams.

Desired Skills for Software engineer (DevOPs Focus) :

- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g. , AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Jenkins Engineer).

- Knowledge of OOP, TDD and being able to go general backend programing.

- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. , Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

- Knowledge of ORM mapping
