1. Financial Focus on obtaining tax benefits in order to improve the companys profitability Responsible to legally minimize tax liabilities through informed application of tax laws and regulations Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation Take initiatives to drive growth for DBSIL and ensure sustained growth in line with long-term and short-term objectives of the organization 2. Customer Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects Liaise with the regulatory bodies to ensure that the taxation objectives of the unit are in compliance with the direct and indirect tax laws and regulations Advise the management on taxation matters impacting the business operations of the group 3. Operations Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in unit tax procedures Develop and implement strategic tax planning for the unit; advice for the Tax Planning for the unit including availing benefits by setting up unit in SEZ and other Tax incentives Manage and facilitate income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc. Ensure timely deposition of taxes and filling of returns for the unit, facilitate and manage the preparation and review unit tax returns and the accurate and timely filing of all tax forms Ensure daily closure of books of accounts, ensuring all relevant supporting with vouchers Ensure initiation and sensitization of the employees towards digitization and automation of the tax processes Focus on utilization of advanced business analytics tools to derive key insights critical for the success of the organization 4. Self/ Team Development Review and monitor performance of team members and provide requisite developmental support/ inputs Recommend training as required for team s development Develop the team and update their knowledge base to cater the organization need Strategize avenues for enhancing employee satisfaction in the function, resulting in high engagement levels of employees
