GCP DevOps Engineer

Job Description: DevOps Engineer (GCP Focused) Bangalore

Key Responsibilities:

1. CI/CD Pipeline Management:

- Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines primarily leveraging GCP-native tools such as Cloud Build, as well as third-party tools like Jenkins.

- Automate build, test, and deployment processes to support continuous integration and continuous deployment across different environments.

2. Cloud Management:

- Oversee the management of GCP environments, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and cost efficiency.

- Utilize Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for container orchestration and manage containerized applications with tools like Docker.

- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Google Deployment Manager.

3. Automation & Monitoring:

- Automate routine operational tasks, including monitoring, backup, and scaling, using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) or configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.

- Set up and manage robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems using GCP Stackdriver (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging) and complementary tools like Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system health and proactive response.

4. Collaboration:

- Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to streamline code integration and deployment processes.

- Promote a culture of collaboration and effective communication between cross-functional teams to enhance project efficiency and reduce silos.

5. Security & Compliance:

- Implement best security practices including vulnerability management, secure configurations, and regular patching.

- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA) through thorough audits, documentation, and adherence to security frameworks.

- Integrate GCPs security offerings such as Security Command Center and Identity and Access Management (IAM) best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Experience: 4+ years in DevOps or similar roles with a strong focus on GCP.

- CI/CD Expertise: In-depth knowledge of CI/CD tools, particularly GCP Cloud Build, Jenkins, and GitLab CI/CD.

- Cloud Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in managing and deploying applications on GCP, with knowledge of core services such as GKE, Cloud Run, and Compute Engine.

- Containerization: Strong experience with container technologies, specifically Docker, and orchestration through
