About the job
As a Purchase Head within our interior design firm, you will be responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing all materials, furnishings, and services required for our projects. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials and services while adhering to project budgets and specifications.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Vendor Management:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
2. Procurement:
Source and purchase materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment required for interior design projects.
Ensure that all purchased items meet project specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate with project managers and designers to determine procurement needs.
3. Budget Management:
Work closely with project managers and finance teams to establish and manage project budgets.
Monitor and control procurement costs to ensure projects remain within budget constraints.
4. Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and reorder points.
Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and ensure the availability of materials.
5. Quality Assurance:
Conduct quality checks on received materials and products to ensure they meet the required standards.
Address any quality issues promptly and work with suppliers to resolve them.
6. Logistics and Shipping:
Oversee the logistics and shipping of materials to project sites.
Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
7. Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Maintain detailed procurement records and documentation for auditing purposes.
8. Cost Analysis:
Analyze costs associated with different procurement options and recommend cost-effective solutions.
Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills:
Must have a Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Civil engineering.
Proven experience in procurement and vendor management, preferably national and international experience within the interior design or construction industry.
Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
Knowledge of interior design materials, products, and industry trends is a plus.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
