Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management :
- Install, configure, and maintain computer networks, workstations, laptops, and servers.
- Assemble and configure new desktop systems, ensuring hardware and software compatibility.
- Maintain existing IT infrastructure, upgrading systems and hardware that become obsolete.
Network Administration & Troubleshooting :
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of LAN and WAN networks to ensure seamless functionality.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues, including firewalls, connectivity, and performance bottlenecks.
- Provide proactive support for network administration and resolve user issues efficiently.
System Diagnostics & Maintenance:
- Perform diagnostic tests and repairs for desktops, laptops, and server systems.
- Develop and implement data backup, archiving, and retrieval procedures to safeguard organizational data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, and Linux systems.
User Support & Consultation:
- Offer technical support and guidance to users regarding hardware, software, and network issues.
- Consult with stakeholders to specify system requirements and design tailored IT solutions.
- Train users on new systems and provide ongoing IT support.
Budgeting & Procurement:
- Evaluate and budget for hardware and software needs, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of IT equipment and services.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
- Continuously monitor computer networks and systems to identify areas for performance improvement.
- Document and report recurring issues, offering recommendations for long-term solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in managing LAN and WAN networks.
- Experience with firewalls, network security, and monitoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, and Linux systems.
- Hands-on experience with assembling and troubleshooting hardware systems (desktops, laptops, and servers).
- Familiarity with network diagnostic tools and techniques.
Soft Skills :
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for user support and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certifications in relevant areas such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or ITIL.
- Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g , AWS, Azure).
- Prior experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships
