Special Educator

D.A.V. Chennai is looking for Special Educator to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey

• A Special Educator works with students who have special needs, including learning disabilities, cognitive impairments, emotional or behavioral disorders, physical disabilities, or other conditions that require individualized attention
• They collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to create and implement tailored education plans

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessment and Individualized Education Program (IEP) Development:Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and challenges
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on assessment results and collaborate with other professionals to create personalized learning plans
• Instruction and Curriculum Adaptation:Design and implement specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of each student
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
• Classroom Management:Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Implement behavior management strategies to address individual student needs
• Collaboration:Work closely with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning experience
• Communicate regularly with parents to discuss students' progress and address concerns
• Professional Development:Stay current with best practices and advancements in special education
• Participate in workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
• Advocacy:Advocate for the needs of students with special needs within the school community
• Collaborate with parents and other professionals to ensure students receive necessary support services
• Data Collection and Progress Monitoring:Keep detailed records of students' progress and behavior
• Regularly assess and adjust instructional strategies based on ongoing student performance
