Position : Director - Data Engineering

Location : Hyderabad

Overview :

As a Director of Data Engineering, you will be responsible for driving the technical strategy, overseeing complex data projects, and delivering high-quality solutions that support our clients' business goals.

This role requires a leader who is passionate about data, cloud technologies, and driving innovation in the data engineering space.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage the Data Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

- Provide leadership and management to a team of data engineers, overseeing processes, vetting designs, and mentoring team members to realize their full potential.

- Act as a subject matter expert across various digital projects.

- Collaborate with internal clients and external partners to structure and store data into unified taxonomies and link them with standard identifiers.

- Manage and scale data pipelines from internal and external data sources to support new product launches and ensure data quality across data products.

- Build and own automation and monitoring frameworks that capture metrics and operational KPIs for data pipeline quality and performance.

- Implement best practices around systems integration, security, performance, and data management.

- Drive the design, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines, architectures, and cloud-based data solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Oversee large-scale data projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to best practices in data engineering and architecture.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Client Services, to deliver end-to-end data solutions.

- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and data governance.

- Establish and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring satisfaction and long-term partnership success.

- Manage budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines to ensure efficient delivery of services.

- Ensure the security, scalability, and efficiency of all data solutions.

Qualifications :

- 15+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Expertise in modern data architectures, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies (e., Hadoop, Spark).

- Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, and/or other programming languages commonly used in data engineering.

- Experience with BI tools and platforms (e., Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake) is a plus.

- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills; comfortable managing trade-offs.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working in a consulting environment or leading data engineering initiatives for multiple clients.

- Familiarity with data strategy, data governance, security practices, and regulatory requirements in the data space.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for driving continuous improvement
