Manager - Purchase - Solar Industry (4-8 yrs)

Our client is a start- up in the Solar Industry. They want to hire a Strategic Procurement Manager, who will play a role in developing a long term sourcing strategy for the company.

You would need to look beyond just using traditional sourcing strategies and develop innovative sourcing strategies that would make the procurement function of the organization as a competitive strength. You must have prior experience of procurement in the solar Industry.

The role includes:

- Develop an organization's purchasing strategy

- Responsible for entire Procurement, Materials & Contracts operations involves Strategic sourcing plan, Contract Management & Stores.

- Determine procurement and contracts objective, conceptualizing and implement system policy MIS and procedure

- Pro- actively work with internal stakeholders & identify major procurement opportunities.

- Regularly liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers

- Identify potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them

- Develop and manage the procurement department including setting targets and monitoring performance

- Negotiate and agree contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided by the vendors or suppliers.

- Evaluate bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.

- Discover the most profitable suppliers and initiate business partnership

- Negotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms

- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

- Candidate would need to foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients

The Successful candidate must have:

- Candidate should have engineering background; must have minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience in Solar Industry.

- Candidates should have strong background of negotiations, vendor management.

- Candidate should be comfortable working on strict timelines.

- Candidate should have strong analytical skills and advanced knowledge of Excel.

- Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in procuring items for solar industry.
