Job Overview:

BT Group is on the lookout for a talented and motivated Network Engineer with extensive experience in Routing/Switching, Firewall technologies, Cisco ACI, Nexus switches, and Data Center operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security for our critical business services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain complex Routing and Switching environments to support business operations.
• Implement and manage Firewall solutions to protect the network from external threats and ensure adherence to security policies.
• Deploy, configure, and optimize Cisco ACI to enhance application agility and performance within our data centers.
• Work with Nexus switches to ensure efficient data center switching infrastructure and connectivity.
• Conduct regular monitoring and analysis of network performance, troubleshooting issues as they arise to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to develop and implement network architecture that meets business needs.
• Create detailed documentation for network configurations, processes, and procedures for efficient knowledge transfer.
• Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and network optimization efforts to maintain service quality.
• Stay current with emerging networking technologies and trends to continuously improve our network infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in network engineering with a specific focus on Routing/Switching and Firewall management.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ACI, Nexus switches, and Data Center networking.
• In-depth understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and security methodologies.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and the ability to perform troubleshooting efficiently.
• Relevant networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent) are highly advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team environment
