QA/QC Engineer - Electronics Assembly Line

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control of Incoming Materials:

• Inspect and verify the quality of incoming materials and components to ensure they meet BRIGHTBLUs quality standards.
• Report any faulty or non-compliant components back to the operations team and work with suppliers to resolve issues.
• Maintain detailed records of incoming materials, including any deviations or discrepancies.

Inventory Management:

• Maintain accurate inventory of materials, components, and finished goods at the Verna plant.
• Ensure that inventory levels are optimized to support the assembly process while minimizing waste and delays.

Assembly Line Quality Assurance:

• Oversee the entire assembly process, ensuring that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control plans are strictly followed from start to finish.
• PCB Assembly: Ensure that the PCB assembly process follows all quality guidelines, including proper soldering and component placement.
• PCB Testing: Perform and verify PCB testing to check for functionality, ensuring all units are defect-free before moving to the next stage.
• Charger Assembly: Supervise the assembly of the EV chargers, ensuring that all components are correctly assembled and meet required safety and performance standards.
• End-of-Line Testing: Oversee comprehensive end-of-line testing to ensure the chargers meet all functional, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Packaging: Ensure the final packaging process adheres to the required standards and checklist and that the finished product is ready for shipment.

Collaboration with R&D Team:

• Work closely with the R&D team to implement new products or updates to existing products/firmware on the assembly line.
• Ensure smooth transitions when changes are made to product designs or firmware, and update assembly processes accordingly.

Audit Preparation:

• Prepare for and support quality and factory audits requested by customers.
• Ensure all necessary documentation and records are up-to-date and easily accessible for audit purposes.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customer audits, ensuring all audit requirements are met efficiently and effectively.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify areas for improvement in the assembly line and quality processes and collaborate with the operations and engineering teams to implement improvements.
• Promote and implement best practices for quality control, process optimization, and defect prevention.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare and maintain quality control reports, including inspection results, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and other relevant documentation.
• Report on quality trends, key metrics, and any issues related to product quality to the Head of Operations.

Communication with Head Office:

• Regularly communicate with BRIGHTBLU's head office and R&D team in Baner, Pune, to report on production progress, quality control issues, and changes in processes.
• Be BRIGHTBLUs "eyes, ears, and hands" at the Verna plant, ensuring that quality and operations run smoothly and in compliance with company standards.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications in quality management or lean manufacturing (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) are a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a quality control/assurance role in electronics manufacturing or assembly.
• Experience in managing and overseeing the electronics assembly process, including PCB assembly, testing, and final product assembly, is preferred.
• Previous experience in the EV or renewable energy sector is an advantage.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of electronic assembly processes, PCB design, soldering techniques, and testing methods.
• Knowledge of industry standards for product quality, such as UL, CE, IEC.
• Proficient in using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electrical testers.
• Experience in managing inventories, maintaining detailed records, and ensuring SOP compliance.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management software.
