Whats the Role:
As our Materials RD Engineer, you will lead and supervise material RD projects focused on the development and improvement of Bradken materials in the areas of rubber, polymeric materials, and their composites. You will support the global RD team and assist in project activities to further expand material development initiatives in India by facilitating material trials, logistical activities, and coordinating actions with internal and external stakeholders.
With your organizational and collaborative skills, you will engage with Manufacturing, Technical, and Product Development teams to identify potential material development opportunities and plan projects with the Material RD team and other stakeholders. Additionally, you will assist the Manufacturing team in root cause analysis and conduct necessary research to deliver business solutions.
You will assist with obtaining quotations, developing budgets, and CAPEXs related to process development solutions. Your role will involve working with the Engineering and Sales teams and assisting in the design and monitoring of field trials for RD improvements.
Overall, you will facilitate research both internally and through third parties to enhance Bradkens intellectual property related to material performance in consumable applications. You will also be responsible for disseminating research outcomes into the business.
Key Technical Criteria:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Demonstrated years of experience in rubber/polymer materials research and development, preferably in an industrial or RD environment
Experience in polymer synthesis, characterization, and processing techniques
Experience in polyurethane and polyurea is highly regarded.
Previous experience related to the any Manufacturing Industry is advantageous
Technical report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
