Job Description :
Principal Responsibilities :
- Understand and communicate client needs, and quality standards to IT, vendors, and service providers.
- Improve QA processes to ensure business benefits are realized.
- Set business/system requirements for vendors and ensure compliance.
- Supervise testing resources and guide team members.
- Oversee system and user acceptance testing to ensure alignment with quality standards.
- Develop, execute, and monitor test plans to achieve objectives.
- Create and implement test scripts to assess product performance and quality.
- Identify and fix defects during the testing cycle.
- Implement preventive and corrective actions to maintain quality standards.
- Ensure user expectations are met during testing processes.
- Develop QA policies, procedures, and standards.
- Investigate customer complaints and support the change management process.
- Inspect final outputs, compare with requirements, and approve/reject products.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies like FSC and JSE.
- Collect stakeholder feedback, attend meetings, and submit reports.
Qualifications & Experience Required :
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in science or business-related fields.
Experience :
- At least 5 - 8 years in Quality Assurance, with strong knowledge of securities dealing and regulatory environments.
Skills :
- Attention to detail, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, legal standards, data analysis, and statistical methods.
- Excellent communication, technical, and IT skills.
- Experience with senior executives and vendor management.
- Familiarity with the Systems Development Life Cycle and projected environments.
Good to Have Skills :
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Knowledge of the financial sector.
- Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple tasks.
Complexity & Mental Challenge :
- The role involves managing multiple competing assignments with aggressive deadlines.
Developing Quality Standards :
- Establishing clear quality standards and guidelines that products or services must meet before they reach the customer.
- This can include both internal benchmarks and industry standards.
Team Management :
- Leading, training, and managing a team of QA specialists, inspectors, or testers, depending on the industry.
- This includes setting goals, reviewing performance, and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Process Improvement :
- Identifying areas where quality assurance processes can be improved, and implementing new tools, methodologies, or approaches to enhance product quality.
Auditing & Inspections :
- Overseeing regular inspections, audits, and assessments to monitor the quality of products, services, or operations.
- This may involve testing procedures, reviewing production processes, or conducting final product evaluations.
Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving :
- Addressing any quality issues that arise, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Reporting & Documentation :
- Maintaining detailed records of quality inspections, testing results, and corrective actions.
- The QA Manager is also responsible for preparing reports for senior management on product quality, compliance status, and any potential risks.
Compliance & Regulation :
- Ensuring that all quality assurance processes adhere to industry regulations, certifications, and standards (e.g., ISO, FDA, or industry-specific guidelines).
Collaboration with Other Departments :
- Working closely with other departments, such as production, engineering, product development, and customer service, to resolve quality issues and meet customer expectations.
