Job Description for Manager - E&I and Control Systems / E&IC In-charge

A) Division / Department :-
Vapi Plant
Reporting To :- Plant Manager / Plant Head
Position :-Manager - E&I and Control Systems

Location : Plot No. 801/20, 789/4 & 789/4(GS)’, GIDC IIIrd Phase, Vapi, Dist. - Valsad, Gujarat

Educational Qualifications :- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical OR Instrumentation Engineering

Work Experience Range :-
Min. 10 Years & Above
Age Group :-32 - 40 Years
Preferred Industry : Chemical Small Scale Production Unit / Oil Processing Industry preferred

B) Key Job Responsibilites : (Elaborated but not limited to these)
- Leads a team of engineers (Electrical & Instrumentation), technicians (Electrical & Instrumentation) and contractors who
work on electrical and instrumentation projects as well as Production Unit.
- Planning, coordinating and supervising the activities of their team, making sure that the new project execution are
completed on time, within budget and with the appropriate quality and safety standards.
- Planning, coordinating and supervising the activities of their team, making sure that the production unit operates with
minimum stopages and problems and are completed on time with the appropriate quality and safety standards.
- Must liaise with plant supplier, production departments, supplier vendors and other departments to communicate
maintainance requirements, execution, work progress and issues happening during day to day production as well as new
project execution.
- Developing project scopes, specifications, schedules and budgets; reviewing and approving design drawings,
calculations, and documents given by Plant supplier.
- Procuring and managing equipment (Routine maintainance & Annual Maintainance), materials and services; conducting
site inspections, audits, and tests; troubleshooting technical problems; providing technical guidance and training to staff
and contractors for the operating production unit.
- Preparing reports and proposals; as well as implementing policies, procedures, and regulations as per GIDC and
Govenrment requirements.
- Identify resource training & skill requirements and report to Plant manager / Head. Maintain resource quality and
preformance by monitoring, counselling, training and discipline in production activities.
- Acquire and develop tools / SOPs, Safety Protocol needed for an effective and efficient production methodology and
management.
- Plan, Budget, Recruit & train allocated resources in accordance with long-term or short term needs for Production
Operation.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports. Send to Plant Manager / Head.
- Regularly plan and conduct the safety drills, Audits and operation trainings for E&I department work force.

C) Knowledge and Skills Required :-
- Strong background in Electrical & Instrumentation engineering with proven leadership skills
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, selection of E&I equipment, Installation and Target achiement ability for
new project execution from start to end.
- Should have knowledge of principles, standards, codes and practices related to electrical and instrumentation
engineering.
- Hands on experience of E&I handling in Distillation, Vacuum systems, Reactor, Crystalizer, Filtration, Hot Oil Heating
System, Boiler, Utilities and material handling in chemical plant. Also should have hands on experience on handling
Hazardous chemicals.
- Should have good communication skills for communicating clear and to the point instructions to the plant E&I work force
for achieving production targets.
- Expertise in Transformer, PCC, MCC, Production control Operation, Trouble shooting and Emergency handling situation
in Chemical Production Plant Operation.
- Should have Exposer and Experience in handling plant operation on PLC/SCADA/DCS system. Proficiency in control
system design, loop diagrams, and field instrumentation.
- Wide experience of production unit E&I manpower plannning, allocation and handling each level manpower.
- Good Hands on experience in Hazardous material Management during maintenance of E&I equipments for smooth
running of the production unit.
- Should have handled & expertise in regular E&I equipment maitenance, preventive maintenance work.
