VP Finance - US GAAP and Taxation

Job Level- Vice President

Reports to- Chief Financial Officer/ Chief Strategy Officer

JOB SUMMARY

The VP Finance will be an integral member of the finance team in overseeing the global accounting, including general ledger, trust accounting, treasury management, VAT and income tax compliance, and procurement/ payables functions. They will be responsible for leading the finance organization to ensure reliable, accurate and complete financial information is provided in a timely manner to internal and external stakeholders. The Global Controllers objective is to maintain a strong control environment for transaction recording, treasury management, and statutory compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing senior finance leadership for all global financial processes executed in all global locations
• Manage the global finance team
• Overseeing and direct global transactional accounting; including maintaining the fiscal integrity of the general ledger, accounts payable sub ledger, accounts receivable sub ledger, fixed asset sub ledger and bank accounts
• Oversee and direct activities regarding treasury, global tax compliance (both income tax and VAT), global statutory reporting, global external audit
• Coach, develop, and train global financial team (Analysts/Accountants) via in-person or remote means
• Have ownership for internal controls, integrity of financial reporting and all aspects of financial operations
• Be a champion of process improvement across the business
• Manage full cycle month end process from initiation to formal close meeting
• Manage the completion of balance sheet, profit-and-loss statement, cash-flow statement in conjunction with the financial analyst group monthly according to closing schedule for all regions.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual global consolidated financial statements, in a multi-currency environment
• Ensure monthly execution of balance sheet reconciliations and attestations by members of the global Finance team
• Maintain alternate books of account including Canadian ASPE, US GAAP, UK GAAP, and Philippines GAAP
• Execute transfer pricing process, including intercompany revenue and expense calculations, billings, and due/to from reconciliations.

SKILLS, EFFORTS, COMPETENCIES, AND OTHER SPECIFICATIONS

• Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Must possess excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills, and be able to work with regional and senior management, investors, internal and external stakeholders
• Must possess strong ERP fundamentals with high system aptitude and strong ERP system skills
• Must have strong knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP/ASPE, Canadian & US taxation compliance
• Must possess strong project management skills with ability to multi-task.
• Must be a proactive team player that will be a model to his/her staff members.
• Advanced knowledge of Workday ERP or other enterprise level ERP systems, would be an asset
