Job Description
- BELENUS CHAMPION is looking for Junior Consultant Anaesthesia & Critical Care to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey
- The Anesthesia Consultant plays a crucial role in the perioperative care of patients, providing anesthesia services for various surgical and medical procedures
- They collaborate with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety
- Key Responsibilities:Preoperative Assessment:Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to evaluate the patient's medical history, current health status, and any potential risks related to anesthesia
- Determine the appropriate type and dosage of anesthesia based on the patient's condition and the nature of the procedure
- Anesthesia Administration:Administer various types of anesthesia, including general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and sedation, according to the established protocols and patient needs
- Monitor vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed during the procedure to ensure the patient's stability
- Patient Advocacy:Serve as an advocate for the patient's safety and comfort during the perioperative period
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide information about the anesthesia process and address any concerns
- Collaboration with Surgical Teams:Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans
- Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and safe transition throughout the surgical process
- Postoperative Care:Monitor patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and manage postoperative pain as needed
- Evaluate the patient's recovery and make decisions regarding postoperative care and discharge
- Emergency Response:Respond promptly to any anesthesia-related emergencies, providing critical care and life support as necessary
- Stay informed about advancements in anesthesia techniques and emergency protocols
- Documentation:Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, documenting preoperative assessments, anesthesia administration details, and postoperative care
