Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer, Level 3 , specializing in Magento at Atyantik Technologies , is a critical driver of our mission to deliver innovative, scalable, and robust e-commerce solutions that exceed client expectations. This role demands extensive expertise in Magento platform development and customization, with a focus on creating and sustaining high-performance, secure, and scalable multi-vendor marketplace platforms.

The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of overall experience in software development , with at least 5 years specifically in Magento development . Professional certification in Magento is not required but its good to have , underscoring a deep commitment to the field. This professional will lead and influence complex projects, embody our dedication to quality, and ensure solutions meet and drive our business and technological objectives forward. Furthermore, this role encourages a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement, pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve in e-commerce innovation.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Architecture and Development:

Design and implement advanced Magento architectures that support scalable and efficient multi-vendor marketplace solutions.
Lead efforts to customize Magento to meet specific client requirements, ensuring robustness, security, and compliance.

2. Technical Leadership:

Provide guidance and leadership to development teams, driving projects from conception to implementation.
Foster a culture of technical excellence within the team, promoting best practices in software development.

3. Solution Optimization and Performance:

Optimize Magento systems for peak performance, ensuring scalability and handling of high-volume transactions.
Implement performance monitoring tools and processes to proactively address potential issues.

4. Security and Compliance:

Uphold security standards within the development lifecycle, implementing security patches and updates as required.
Ensure all developments are compliant with relevant laws and regulations, particularly in data handling and privacy.

5. Innovation and Improvement:

Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating innovative solutions that enhance system capabilities and user experience.
Regularly evaluate existing systems and propose improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with product management, QA, and cross-functional teams to ensure that developments align with business goals and user needs.
Actively participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.

7. Mentorship and Team Development:

Mentor junior developers and peers, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance team skill levels.
Lead by example in adopting new tools and technologies, encouraging a learning culture within the team.

8. Quality Assurance and Testing:

Collaborate with the QA team to define testing strategies that ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
Review and optimize code and architecture continuously to minimize technical debt and maintain high standards of quality.

Qualifications and Experiences:

1. Educational Background:

Bachelor s or master s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in relevant technologies are highly regarded.

2. Professional Certification:

Magento 2 Certified Professional Developer or equivalent certifications demonstrating expertise in Magento and related technologies.

3. Technical Expertise:

Profound knowledge and hands-on experience in PHP, JavaScript, and specifically in Magento development.
Strong understanding of e-commerce technology ecosystem including web services, payment processing, and customer engagement platforms.

4. Experience:

6-10 years of professional software development experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on Magento platform development.
Proven track record of developing, launching, and managing sophisticated e-commerce solutions in a dynamic business environment.

5. Skills in Additional Technologies:

Experience with modern development tools and methodologies, including Git, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices, and agile development frameworks.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, which support scalable e-commerce applications.

6. Legal and Compliance Awareness:

Knowledge of data protection regulations relevant to e-commerce, such as GDPR, and experience implementing compliance mechanisms in software solutions.

Skills and Competencies:

1. Advanced Magento Development:

Proficient in developing, customizing, and optimizing Magento 2.x platforms.
Skilled in implementing and managing multi-vendor marketplace extensions and themes.

2. Full Stack Capabilities:

Strong front-end skills with JavaScript, CSS, and HTML; adept at responsive design principles.
Backend development expertise using PHP and MySQL; proficient in writing efficient and secure code.

3. Software Architecture:

Ability to design scalable and maintainable software architectures. Understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and APIs.

4. Performance Optimization:

Experience in performance tuning, caching strategies, and database optimization to handle high traffic volumes.

5. Security Best Practices:

Knowledge of web security practices, capable of implementing secure e-commerce solutions and compliance with data protection regulations.

6. Project Management and Agile Methodologies:

Skilled in Agile project management tools and techniques, able to lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and prioritizing backlogs.

7. Quality Assurance:

Implement testing frameworks and quality assurance measures to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software.

8. Communication and Leadership:

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Capable of leading teams, mentoring junior developers, and managing stakeholder expectations.

9. Continuous Learning and Adaptability:

Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Experience:

1. Progressive Technical Development:

A career trajectory showing progression through roles of increasing technical complexity and leadership, beginning from Junior Software Engineer up to Senior Software Engineer, with substantial focus on Magento or similar e-commerce platforms.

Extensive experience in PHP, Magento, JavaScript, and other relevant web technologies.
Demonstrated proficiency in developing complex e-commerce solutions, including custom module development and system integrations.
