Job Title : Data Engineer

Location : Bangalore

Role Overview :

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and solutions to support the banking clients critical data initiatives. In addition to core engineering responsibilities, this role will actively contribute to end-to-end project delivery, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality execution of data projects.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and optimize robust data pipelines for batch and real-time processing.

- Build and maintain ETL processes for structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.

- Implement data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks.

- Engage in project planning, estimation, and execution activities in alignment with project timelines and client expectations.

- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose data solutions.

- Ensure that all solutions comply with data security, governance, and regulatory requirements of the banking sector.

- Actively participate in status meetings, provide project updates, and manage deliverables to meet agreed timelines.

- Troubleshoot, optimize,and support production data workflows.

- Work closely with client teams based in New York, ensuring smooth communication and delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, ideally in banking or financial services.

- Proven experience in delivering data-focused projects in a client-facing environment.

- Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, and ETL development.

- MS SCOM, Solarwinds , Oracle & MSSQL, PostgreSQL knowledge

- Good understanding of data security and regulatory compliance for financial institutions.

- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with global teams.

Preferred :

- Experience with streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis).

- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Scala).

- Prior exposure to project delivery methodologies (Agile, Scrum) in banking projects.

- Experience working with US-based clients.

Work Hours :

- Willingness to align work hours to ensure effective overlap with the US Eastern Time Zone for meetings and project delivery coordination.
