We are looking for a Member of Technical Staff to join our LaunchDarkly team within our Chennai R&D , Platform subdivision, Internal Developer Platform. You will be working with product and technical leaders to develop great services which will be value add and critical to improve productivity of healthcare providers in the US. You are an engineer with hands on experience in any scripting framework, Java, react techstacks.

Your expertise on AWS, Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform will be a significant asset in enhancing our application. You are an excellent communicator capable of quickly picking up the complicated healthcare domain. You are a tenacious yet nimble learner who demonstrates design and engineering excellence.

The Team: LaunchDarkly - Rollout toggles plays an important role in every release and several team rely heavily on the toggles to manage and have visibility into features being released and it is been used in the system for a while. LaunchDarkly is a feature management platform that enables teams to control their software releases and implement feature flags in a more standardized, multi-dimensional feature flagging experience for most languages and deployment platforms at Athena. This is one of the most business-critical teams where there is a scope to build new capabilities and migration. You will also be working on the technologies like AWS, Kubernetes etc.

Job responsibilities:

  • Design and develop quality code in an agile approach adhering to the business requirements. Deploy the code to production and deliver timely fixes.
  • Lead the complete migration of LaunchDarkly services from Amazon ECS to Kubernetes, ensuring minimal disruption and downtime.
  • Design and implement Kubernetes-based infrastructure for LaunchDarkly services with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Adhere to the team s Definition of Done, perform peer code reviews to ensure quality standards.
  • Monitor and fine-tune the performance of the migrated services, implementing best practices for resource utilization and cost management.
  • Enhance the LaunchDarkly SDKs to support new features and optimize its performance, ensuring it meets the needs of our development teams.
  • Develop and deploy customized AWS Lambda functions for approval workflows that integrate with LaunchDarkly, streamlining the feature release process.
  • Develop domain knowledge. Take ownership of what you build and coordinate your efforts across the teams to ensure proper completion
  • Participate and contribute to Agile ceremonies including daily stand-up, sprint planning, readouts, and retrospectives.

Education, Experience, & Skills Required:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in software development role.
  • Experience in an Agile environment preferred.
  • Bachelor s Degree or equivalent
  • Significant software engineering skills (SDLC) with high quality and agile driven delivery.
  • Knowledge and expertise in programming languages : Perl, Java , react
  • Knowledge of working with AWS , Kubernetes.
