Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including hepatologists, gastroenterologists, surgeons, oncologists, nurses, and nutritionists, to provide comprehensive care and support. Medical Interventions : Prescribe medications, therapies, and medical interventions to manage liver diseases effectively. This may include antiviral medications for hepatitis, immunosuppressive drugs for autoimmune liver diseases, and medications to manage symptoms such as ascites, jaundice, and hepatic encephalopathy. Procedural Interventions : Perform or coordinate procedural interventions such as liver biopsies, paracentesis, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) procedures, and liver transplant evaluations. Collaborate with interventional radiologists, hepatobiliary surgeons, and transplant teams as needed to optimize patient outcomes. Patient Education and Counseling : Educate patients and their families about liver diseases, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and strategies to manage symptoms and prevent disease progression.
