Job Description:
- Communication and Persuasion: Exceptional verbal, written, and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex ideas and emotionally connect with an audience, especially in a social sector context.
- Innovative and Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop creative fundraising ideas and social media strategies, adapting to changing circumstances to achieve fundraising goals.
- Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills for cultivating and maintaining long-term relationships with donors, stakeholders, and partners, essential for the social sector.
- Resilience and Positivity: Capacity to handle rejection, stay motivated, and bounce back from setbacks while maintaining a focus on achieving fundraising targets.
- Empathy and Adaptability: Deep understanding of social sector dynamics, with empathy.
- Lead annual fundraising planning and strategy development in coordination with senior management to meet targets.
- Identify and develop new income streams while maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective donors.
- Prepare grant proposals, track fundraising efforts, and ensure compliance with donor requirements, including timely reporting.
- Manage donor databases, monitor donor-funded projects, and ensure quality reporting to stakeholders.
- Plan and execute fundraising events, develop strategies to enhance donor engagement, and manage fundraising budgets.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Track record of bringing innovative creative thinking and fresh ideas to an organisation and/ or its services.
- Knowledge of the fundraising environment and of a range techniques and disciplines which will support the cost-effective generation of income for KSWA.
- Exceptionally convincing and persuasive written and oral skills with the ability to present and convey complex ideas and issues clearly and coherently.
- Proficiency in MS office.
- Ability to secure Senior Management and Board approval for strategy.
- Demonstrable ability to evaluate the type of initiatives and programmes within the scope of the post and initiate, develop and deliver new initiatives that build on their successes.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously, take initiative and make decisions.
- Innovative management style.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- High work ethic and commitment to excellence, accuracy and attention to detail.
- At least two years' experience in a similar role or "nontraditional" fundraising backgrounds.
- Professions such as advertising/ account management/banking/ sales and marketing have transferable skills that apply well to relationship building in fundraising.
