Associate Director - Access to Finance

We aim to drive holistic social development for our participants by ensuring they are given access to multiple interventions, including providing access to social security, financial literacy and inclusion, access to credit, business formalisation, healthcare, entrepreneurship development, skilling, job creation, digital empowerment, and market linkages.
Role Overview:
- The Associate Director of Access to Finance will lead initiatives to enhance access to financial resources for participants by developing strategies, managing partnerships and overseeing programs aimed at improving financial inclusion and literacy.
- This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of credit markets, financial services and over all understanding of the social sector.
- This person will constantly advocate for access to finance and financial inclusion and work with influential stakeholders in the sector to see how the existing policies can help promote access to finance for social organizations.
- Expectations from the role is to work extensively with internal and external stakeholders to develop programs and policies that promote equitable access to finance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive access to finance strategy aligned with the overall organizations mission and goals.
- Create frameworks that promote equitable access to financial services keeping the focus mainly on the underserved communities.
- Design and roll out programs that facilitate access to financial services, microfinance, grants and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to identify gaps and propose solutions to bridge the gap.
- Proactively monitor trends and best practices in financial inclusion and access to finance space and design viable models that can be taken to financial institutions, government agencies, NGO's and other social sector entities.
- Actively engage with all the relevant stakeholders to foster a culture of innovation and to enhance the effectiveness of access to finance initiatives.
- Working with influential stakeholders in promoting policies that enhance financial inclusion and challenge systemic barriers preventing access to finance.
- Integrate use of technology by encouraging the use of fintech solutions that can provide alternative avenues for financing and also supporting by helping them understand the use of available technology and use it.
Skills required:
- Post graduate degree in finance, economics, business administration or related field is a must.
- 12+ years of experience in credit, finance, or related fields, with a focus on underserved markets.
- Proven track record of developing and executing strategic programs in the access to finance and credit space
- Strong understanding of regulatory environments and financial inclusion initiatives
- Proficiency in data analysis and financial modelling
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
