VOIP Engineering Leader - Telephony Engineering (10-20 yrs)

What You Will Do :

- Lead the entire Telephony & VOIP Engineering function; this is one of the most critical roles in the company.

- Oversee all aspects of telephony functions, from the app and server connectivity to deployments with telephony partners, and eventually build interconnects directly with major telecom operators.

- Collaborate closely with founders, engineering leaders, designers, and business teams to create an innovative product.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues while ensuring high availability and reliability. Create automated monitoring and alerting systems and support processes to deliver high-quality service to customers.

- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to the overall system architecture.

What Skills You Must Have :

- 10+ years of experience in VOIP and telephony engineering.

- Proven experience in telephony, dialer systems, WebRTC, SIP, and PRI.

- Familiarity with telephony frameworks and libraries, including Asterisk, Kamailio, and RTP engines.

- Hands-on experience with VOIP technologies and protocols (e.g., RTP, RTCP, SDP), and knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, NAT traversal techniques, L1/L2 routing, and subnets.

- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Node.js, Python, C++, or similar.

- Experience in infrastructure management, exposure to DevOps, and familiarity with cloud computing providers such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.

- Proven leadership experience, building multiple platforms from scratch, and working with product, design, and business counterparts.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
