Job Description:
- We are looking for a manager to lead our GST team and oversee various GST-related activities.
- You will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate filing of GST returns, managing input tax credit, resolving notices and appeals, liaising with the GST department and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and review the monthly filing of GST returns for the company and its clients, and ensure compliance with the GST laws and regulations.
- Monitor and reconcile the input tax credit between books of accounts and GSTR-2B , GSTR 2A, and identify and rectify any discrepancies or mismatches.
- Handle complex notices and appeals from the GST department, and draft effective replies and submissions as required.
- Represent the company or its clients before the GST authorities as and when needed.
- Coordinate and maintain good relations with the GST department and other authorities for any queries, audits, assessments, or registrations.
- Negotiate and settle any disputes or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare and maintain books of accounts and financial statements as per the GST norms and standards.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all GST transactions and activities.
- Keep abreast of the latest changes and developments in the GST and customs laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance and training to the taxation team and other staff on GST matters.
- Implement new controls and process improvements to ensure GST compliance and efficiency.
- Prepare and present reports and analysis on the GST performance and impact of the company and its clients.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations on GST planning and optimisation.
Requirements:
- Qualified CA with minimum 1 years of experience in GST and indirect tax matters, with at least 1 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Expert knowledge of GST and customs laws, rules, and procedures.
- Ability to interpret and apply them in various scenarios and situations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software and tools.
- Familiarity with GST portal and other online platforms.
- Excellent communication skills in English language, both written and verbal.
- (Fluency in Hindi language and other regional languages would be an added advantage for the candidate.)
- Ability to lead and manage a team, and work collaboratively with other departments and external parties.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision making skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
