Lead Android Developer - Java/Kotlin (5-9 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a team of Android developers, providing guidance and support on technical challenges.

- Define and implement best practices for Android development within the team.

- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

- Ensure the technical quality and maintainability of Android applications.

- Design, develop, and implement high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and other relevant technologies.

- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

- Troubleshoot and debug application issues.

- Implement new features and enhancements to existing applications.

- Plan and execute Android development projects, adhering to timelines and budgets.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product management, design, backend) to ensure successful project delivery.

- Effectively communicate project status and any potential issues to stakeholders.

- Research and evaluate new technologies and tools to improve development efficiency and application quality.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Android development and mobile technologies.

- Explore and implement innovative solutions to challenging technical problems.

- Possess a strong understanding of user needs and how to translate those needs into effective and user-friendly mobile applications.

- Advocate for user-centric design principles throughout the development process.

Qualifications & Experience :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience :

- 5+ years of professional experience in developing Android applications.

- 3+ years of experience leading and mentoring a team of developers.

Skills :

Essential :

- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.

- Solid understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and related tools.

- Experience with Android Jetpack libraries (ViewModel, LiveData, Room).

- Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON parsing.

- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

- Experience with Git or other version control systems.

- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred :

- Experience with building offline-online capable apps.

- Experience with facial biometrics, Near Field Communication, edge analytics.

- Experience with building Android applications with over 1,000 downloads and 4+ rating on the Play Store.

- Background in public health, ICT4D, and digital health standard frameworks
